Overview
When a patron books a service, a booking is created. This marks the service's date/time unavailable for a another patron to make a booking for the same exact date/time. This prevents double booking. The booking is confirmed. i.e. no other patron can knock this patron out of the booking.
Some communities require services to be approved by management before the service can happen. For these services, this is where the "Approval Feature" comes in handy. The "Approval Feature" is simply a way to mark the booking as "Approved". This differentiates "Approved" bookings from bookings that have still yet to be approved.
FAQ: Do all bookings need approved?
No. If your service does not need approved or if all bookings are "auto-approved", simply don't use this feature. Ignore this checkbox. Only use this feature if management requires bookings to be "Marked as Approved".
Tip: If you decide not to approve the booking, cancel it.
Canceling the booking will re-open the service for the date/time. The cancel action is what allows other patrons to signup.
Comments add a journal entry in the booking. Why did you approve it? Why did you cancel it? Why did you unapproved it? This way your team knows what is happening with the booking.
Here is how to find the booking and approve it.
1. Search and find the booking on the Booking Page.
2. Click the Gear Icon to open your options.
