How to create a RECURRING EVENT

How to create a RECURRING EVENT

Overview

If an event has a regular schedule, you make a recurring event. Patrons will be able to sign up for each event separately.  Changing the settings for a recurring event will modify the setting for that event, or all events that follow.

In this article, we will:
  1. See where to find the recurring event button
  2. Explain the 4 recurring event styles
  3. Discuss Frequency and End Dates
  4. Show how, when editing an event, to apply settings to future events in that recurrence as well
First, start here to being adding the event: CLICK HERE.  Or, if the first event is already made: CLICK HERE

Finding the Recurring feature

  1. On the New or Edit Event window, click ADD RECURRENCE

Daily Recurrence

For events that happen everyday through the selected end date at the same time.

Weekly Recurrence

For events on the same day(s) each week at the same time.  Multiple days of the week can be selected.

Monthly by Date

Events on the same day (number) of the month at the same time.  For example, an event always on the 1st of the month.

Monthly by Week

For example, a board meeting that is always on the 2nd Tuesday of the month can be set to recur.

Frequency

The "every" box can be adjusted if an event isn't every day, week or month.  For example, every 2 weeks would set the recurrence for every other week.

End Date

End Recurrence After Date is used to control when the recurrence stops.  If you want the last possible recurrence of an event to be on Sept. 8th, but that date into the field.

Editing Recurring Events

When editing a recurring event, you will be prompted to change just that instance, or all events following the one you are changing.
